Muniellos

Ros Boisier delves into the forest of Muniellos (Asturias, Spain) to experiment with the forms of representation of the natural landscape, the technical characteristics of photography, the alteration of filmic time and the allegorical possibilities of registration and visual perception. Thus, Muniellos aims to generate a dialogue between landscapes in different media and formats in which subtraction, multiplication and repetition expand the time and perception of visual and sound records. Creative strategies that propose to challenge the traditional gaze directed to the landscape and reflect on the relationships between art, culture, society, technology and environment.

Boisier understands nature as a space where it is possible to find recollection and practice silence. A place where interaction with other living beings becomes unpredictable and mysterious and where observation is necessary to connect with the environment. The action of walking through the forest, to try to apprehend it in its complexity, has been a way of discovering herself through the echo that nature itself has taught the artist and that she now receives as an essential incentive for knowledge, both for the development of her work and for her own learning.
